A-Kon

Anime convention this weekend. I spent an irrational amount of money on pins and art. I think I ended up with close to 30 pins. Yikes. We attended a few panels, but as much as I liked A-Kon I realized that my Weaboo phase is basically over. I have a hard time watching most anime anymore, and certainly can’t get into the fandom like I used to be able to. Growing up and all of that, sure, but also recognizing that most of the fandom surrounding anime is *really* damn creepy, a thought that is way outside the scope of this blog, but just think of how accepting of porn/lolis/tentacle rape the community is in general.

Yeah.

The best part of the weekend were the Battletech pods, which simulated being in a giant fuck off Mech. It was pretty amazing. Reaper miniatures were also there, and they let people have free minis and set out paints so people could paint. That was pretty cool and very nice of them, and Maralina wants to start painting more figures which I am also okay with. Things to do together, that sounds like supreme levels of victory to me!

So, yeah, A-Kon was pretty good, but I don’t know how much I’d like to go again. Anime nerds… eeeeeh.

About kylock

Man, biographies are really hard to write because sometimes you just don't know what to write about and then you ramble on pointlessly for a while about your hobbies (video games, reading, programming) and end up boring your readers because they expect something witty and insightful (there are only two ways to save money, neither of which involves hookers) and then readership falls off and you cry yourself to sleep.
