Row row fight the powah!

Wooo, I suppose it’s time for an update. So this weekend was/is Chusok, which is the rough equivelant of Korean thanksgiving. This also means that we get time off! In fact, I don’t have to go back to work until Wednesday! How awesome is that?

But before we left for our long weekend on Friday, the director and vice prinicpal brought us into one of their offices (us being the western teachers) and informed us that they really liked us and gave us friggin 20 dollar bottles of wine! Wow. Happy Chusok to us.

The next day I headed Ansan to meet up with a Canadian gal I met, named Charlotte. We were supposed to see some kind of culture festival but as we later found out it was canceled. But not before being somewhat accosted by Thai men who wanted Charlotte to come to their resturant (because she had large boobs) but hey, we got ribbons out of the deal!

Well after that we met up with one of Charlotte’s friends and his g/f and he decided we should try some Uzbekistani food! Sounds like an awesome plan!

Mmm, vauegly Russian foodage.

They contemplate my demise.

So we ate, and Charlotte and I decided to go drinking… but not before we saw more awesome Konglish! (Korean-English)

Funkin Double Right Much?

Then it was off to the bar, where we consumed far too much beer! A 3000cc pitcher of beer costs 10 dollars. We had two. For those too lazy to convert that is SIX liters of beer. For two people.

Look at that thing!

Look at that thing!

I’ll spare you the details of the rest of the night.

The next day, we went out to get Galbi which is this awesome type of place where you cook beef/pork/chicken over your own charcol/wood fire and then wrap the meat in lettuce with bean paste onions and a sweet sauce. It is amazing! It also comes with sweet potatoes and coleslaw.

About kylock

Man, biographies are really hard to write because sometimes you just don't know what to write about and then you ramble on pointlessly for a while about your hobbies (video games, reading, programming) and end up boring your readers because they expect something witty and insightful (there are only two ways to save money, neither of which involves hookers) and then readership falls off and you cry yourself to sleep.

You yadda yadda’d over the best part. I am cool and hip because I make references to 90s sitcoms!

Also, seeing that picture of you eating that ribbon makes me miss you more.
